The Design-Build Process

What is Design-Build?

Working with someone who is both an architect and builder is the best way to navigate the complicated building process. As an architect, Dennis Cronin has the experience to provide creative solutions that you might not have thought of on your own. As a builder, he is equipped to maximize your construction dollars, protect your interests during the construction phase, and coordinate the services of other design professionals such as engineers, landscape architects and interior designers. This is the Design-Build process.

Site Selection

Dennis will help you find the ideal home site, and if you already have a site, he will design a home best-suited to the terrain and the surrounding neighborhood. If you are adding on to an existing structure, Dennis will make sure all the required legalities are met and that the location of the addition is the best possible fit.

Architectural Design

Dennis is a registered and licensed architect. He will sketch concepts and then complete the design using state-of-the-art computer software. In this way you become immediately involved in the design process as your dreams and ideas take shape.

Take advantage of Dennis's vast experience in designing additions to existing homes in a thoughtful and senistive manner.

Talented and experienced craftsmen make up the construction team. This important group is committed to the highest levels of quality while keeping the project on-track and on-schedule.

Dennis will manage the day-to-day construction process, making sure the original design intent is met and the plans are followed. Any revisions are made only with full client input.

Remodeling and Renovation

Our craftsmen have particular knowledge of time-honored building techniques that are critically important to high-quality restoration/remodeling.

Dennis Cronin, Architect/Builder...

"Working with Dennis was such a pleasure.  He was very responsive and easy to work with.  We love our new family room!”

—Jeanette Caruso

"We retained Dennis to help design and build a garage for us. Although generally a simple process, this was made a bit more complicated by a tight building site and topography. Dennis was great at helping us understand the pros and cons of some different general ideas before settling on the one that best met our needs—aesthetic, financial, and functional.

We selected Dennis because he was an architect who also had construction experience. So we expected—and we were correct—that he would design something that was attractive, alert to our budget, and practical. No monuments to him (or us). Something that matched the house, the site, and the neighborhood. Something that worked. And something that was a good value. It has been all of these things. He communicated well, and we always knew what was happening and what was coming next.

We’d hire him again in a minute for another job.

—Christopher Press

"Your staff has been open and willing to listen and respond to our various stakeholders. Further, they have demonstrated patience and flexibility throughout the design phase and have conducted themselves in a very professional manner. As a result of those practices and actions, we believe that  we will have a final product that all participants will not only be pleased with, but proud of."

—Robert M. McLaughlinAssociate Dean, University of Cincinnati

"We thoroughly enjoyed working with you. A good foundation was laid when you took the necessary time to learn about our business, the working relationships between the various departments, the necessary flow of communications during a normal workday, and to also learn about the "culture" of our firm. We receive compliments on our building from our clients, industry professionals, as well as visitors...the addition of this facility has clearly enhanced our position in the marketplace."

—David C. Tedford, Vice President of Operations

"My experience working with Dennis Cronin has been most positive. I have been especially impressed with their ability to listen to our needs and transform them into imaginative solutions."

—Sally Wehby, Executive Director, UC Child Care Center, Inc.

"It is my pleasure to recommend Dennis Cronin. As a general contractor, there is no better intermediary for ensuring the project is running smoothly. He is a great coordinator and leader, and exudes a level of knowledge and expertise that inspires us. I believe you could not do better than Dennis managing your project."
